Sea World // Wet&Wild // Movie World
Catching up on my Gold coast adventures.
First stop was Sea World, a mixture of marine animals & roller-coasters. Playful polar bear cubs, dolphin shows and underwater lagoons are just some of the things to see. A brand new attraction, Storm, is a must do for thrill seekers (who don't mind getting a little wet) then you can relax for an afternoon with a frozen coke, my new favourite treat.
When the weather reached new humidity levels we felt it was time to cool off at Wet & Wild. There are about 5 thrill seeker water rides, but one particular ride that I have to share with you is kamikaze. While queuing I was surprised at the amount of brave woman going down backwards (double seat rubber ring)until I got to the top and realised it was lightest first. Great. So the water ride is pretty quick, over in 15 seconds, but the sheer drop becomes even more horrific when you can't see it coming. After that ordeal I collapsed in the lazy river to recover.
Movie World quickly became my personal favourite. In the Warner Brother studios you are surrounded by the Marvel super team & loony tunes. The superman ride shoots at such a speed you loose your breath, the wild west log flume has the biggest drop I have seen yet & there is a brilliant twist to what I thought was a standard family friendly Scooby Doo coaster, that turned out to be a thrill seeker ride where you get lifted into the air in your cart, travels backwards and forwards before being launched into a big dark space with twists and drops.
With unlimited entry until June for just $109 dollars each, the price is perfect for travellers on a budget. We will be back for more action later on in the year!

Roxy // Surf // Event
This week I was lucky enough to catch the Roxy Pro athletes tearing up the surf at the Gold Coast. There was some serious skill envy at what the girls can do with a board and judging by the size of the crowds gathering at Snapper Rocks everyone wanted to get an eyeful. It was a fab day watching the fierce competitiveness & I can't wait to see who gets into the finals.

Brisbane // Road Trip // Botanic Gardens
Yesterday I got my first chance to explore a new city on this adventure. Starting at Mt Coo-tha, a lookout showing amazing panoramic views of Brisbane and the surrounding suburbs & rivers. We then traveled down the road to one of the two Botanic Gardens in the city. We saw just a glimpse of the 52 hectares of land, exploring the glass rainforest dome, the large lagoon, the japanese gardens and bonsai house. I couldn't leave without taking a colourful photo of my favourite flower.
Brisbane centre is another cosmopolitan city with a large pedestrian friendly (no cars) main street filled with a large variety of stores. Ever since I was little my weakness when it comes to shopping, is weirdly stationary. I'm not sure how many others out there would agree, but the excited feeling of love I get when I see a new beautiful notebook, art supplies etc comes close to how much I love chocolate. A lot. You may have heard of the store, Typo, well I was compared to acting like a child in Disneyland.
Currently back at the Gold Coast till the weekend then getting my next fill of city life next week. Time to relax at the pool.

Surfers Paradise // Sunshine State // Autumn
The Australian summer flew by in a whirl of road trips, beaches, starry nights and millions of pictures. The start of Autumn marks a new beginning of exploring the Sunshine State, watching surf events and seeing more Aussie family before heading North to find more work.
First thoughts of Surfers Paradise? It is exactly how we imagined Australia to be. Pristine beaches, high rise buildings, great food and perfect surf.
